“Delay GTA 6 again, this one-frame lighting mistake that eagle-eyed fans found in the new trailer simply will not stand: ‘Literally unplayable'”

Just when Rockstar Games thought it had wowed the internet again, fans spotted a new “problem.” On August 17, 2025, the studio dropped its latest trailer for GTA 6, showing more action, better graphics, and a deeper look at the game’s world. But it took less than 24 hours for some very sharp-eyed viewers to find something they just couldn’t ignore.
A small group of fans spotted a lighting glitch — and it happens in only one frame.
Yes, you read that right. One frame. But it was enough to spark memes, drama, and even wild suggestions to delay the game again.
The issue appears at the 2:17 timestamp of the trailer. In a nighttime scene showing a busy street, one of the neon lights above a store flickers strangely for a single frame. It’s barely visible unless the video is paused and stepped through frame by frame. But fans noticed. And they are not happy.
One Reddit user posted a slowed-down clip with the title:
“Literally unplayable: Rockstar, FIX the neon bug.”
It quickly gained over 45,000 upvotes. Dozens of users jumped in with their thoughts. Some took it seriously, discussing how the lighting system may have issues with reflections or shaders. Others had fun with it. One comment joked, “I’ve canceled my pre-order. I won’t play this broken mess.”
Another user wrote:
“Delay GTA 6 again. Take all the time you need. I want flawless lighting.”
The meme quickly spread to Twitter (now X), TikTok, and YouTube, with people making parody videos. Some even pretended to be Rockstar employees reacting in panic. One viral post said, “The one-frame glitch has been found. Push the release to 2032.”
This isn’t the first time GTA 6 fans have reacted strongly to small details. When the first trailer dropped in December 2023, users pointed out tiny things like missing tire marks and inconsistent cloud shapes. Rockstar didn’t comment on those either.
In this case, though, lighting is a huge deal in GTA 6. The new game uses a more advanced engine with dynamic lighting, real-time reflections, and a day-night cycle that changes how the world looks every minute. Developers have shown off how light bounces naturally, how buildings cast realistic shadows, and how even small items reflect neon colors.
That’s why this tiny mistake is getting so much attention. Fans want perfection — especially after waiting over a decade since GTA 5 first came out in 2013.
Some developers and lighting artists have weighed in. A few explained that one-frame glitches like this are normal in complex games and often get fixed before launch. One Unreal Engine developer tweeted:
“This is not a big deal. Probably just a render pass error. It’ll be gone by release.”
Still, fans are holding Rockstar to a higher standard. After all, GTA 6 is expected to be one of the most expensive and highly anticipated games of all time. Some insiders estimate the budget has already passed $1 billion.
So, will Rockstar fix the glitch? Or even respond to the drama?
So far, the company has stayed silent. The release date remains set for Fall 2025, though many fans now joke that this neon light might be the final straw.
One sarcastic comment sums it up best:
“GTA 6 delayed again. Reason: One rogue photon misbehaved.”
Whether fans are serious or just having fun, one thing is clear: Rockstar is under the microscope. Every frame, every pixel, every light — it all matters.
Even if it only lasts a single frame.
